Druck Dry Block Temperature Calibrators – Portable temperature calibrator

Accurate temperature measurement is essential for maintaining product quality, process efficiency, regulatory compliance and operational safety in industrial processes. High performance, stable temperature sources are the solution for achieving optimal performance of temperature sensors and process instrumentation, by providing reference temperatures for checking and calibrating these devices. The Druck Dry Block Temperature Calibrators provide solutions for testing temperature devices over a range of temperatures from -35°C to 650°C (-31°F to 1202°F). The design philosophy is one of simplification, that is, simplifying the complex arts and skills of temperature calibration to provide instrument technicians with a highly accurate, yet simple to use temperature reference.

Description

Features

  • Calibrated to EA-10/13 (European Co-operation for Accreditation Guidelines on the Calibration of Dry Block Calibrators), delivering high accuracy without the need for a reference probe.
  • Simple 4-button operation with an integrated reference temperature sensor.
  • Serial interface for PC-assisted calibration monitoring using 4Sight2 Calibration Management Software (optional TCUSB interface cable).
  • Optional IOPTC-CASE-1 transport case with wheels for the DryTC165 and DryTC650.

Overview

The Druck DryTC Series Dry Block Temperature Calibrators combine advanced metal block technology with precise electronic temperature control to provide accurate, stable temperature sources for calibrating temperature sensors, probes, switches, and thermometers.

A selection of precision-machined interchangeable well inserts allows the calibrators to accommodate a wide range of probe sizes, making them ideal for field service, maintenance, and laboratory calibration.

Models

DryTC165

  • Temperature range: -35°C to 165°C (-31°F to 329°F)

DryTC650

  • Temperature range: Ambient to 650°C (1202°F)

Both models offer:

  • Accuracy from ±0.2°C
  • Stability of ±0.05°C
  • Fast heating and cooling
  • Lightweight, rugged design for field use
  • Interchangeable well inserts
  • Easy setup and operation
  • Temperature display in °C or °F (factory default: °C)

Interchangeable Well Inserts

Dry block calibrator performance depends on achieving a close fit between the test device and the calibration well. A range of interchangeable insertion sleeves is available with hole diameters designed to fit the most common probes, sensors, and thermometers, helping maximize accuracy and heat transfer.

Controller Functions

The DryTC Series includes several built-in features to simplify calibration:

  • Controller OFF Mode – Disables automatic temperature control while maintaining the current temperature, allowing settings to be adjusted during testing.
  • Manual Control – Lets users manually adjust heater power to control the rate of heating.
  • Set-Point Memory – Stores up to four preset temperatures for quick recall during routine calibrations.
  • Test Profiles – Create automated heating, soak, and cooling sequences between two set points with programmable ramp rates and dwell times.
  • PC Communications – Optional USB interface enables connection to a computer for monitoring and documentation.

Applications

The DryTC Series is suitable for use in the field, workshops, calibration laboratories, and test facilities across a wide range of industries, including:

  • Instrument commissioning and installation
  • Manufacturing and production
  • Preventive maintenance and field service
  • Quality assurance and calibration management
  • Test equipment verification
  • Repair and maintenance operations

FAQs

For recalibration of the Reference Probe, the Probe needs to be connected to the PTC 165 and calibrated as a complete system.
The errors in the Reference Probe are corrected for in the PTC when an adjustment is performed.

The Reference Probe is not calibrated as an individual item.

The MSDS for the Silicone Oil supplied with the LiquidTC 165 is attached.

The CD supplied with the temperature calibrator only contains the drivers for the RS485
to USB converter, the User Manual K0551, the Quick Start Manual K0550 and the
Communication Manual K0552. It does not contain any communication software.
At the moment 4Sight2 does not support the Dry/Liquid TC temperature calibrators.
However support is planned in release V1.5 due end of March 2020.
Intecal V10 does support the Dry/Liquid TC temperature calibrators but unlike our
portable calibrators you cannot download procedures and upload calibration data,
you would need to drive it through Intecal in real time, please see the “Automation for
the calibration test bench” section of the attached Intecal V10 datasheet.
Alternatively the customer can source their own communication software

The adapter sleeve is available with 12 x 3.5 mm bores and 13 x 3.5 mm bores

One end of the lead needs to have a Mini USB plug to go into the converter box, the other end of the lead needs to have a USB A connector suitable for connecting to the PC.

To install the Infra Red function a new setup of the three controller functions will be
required.
All three functions will then need a new adjustment and new calibration certificates
issuing.
The instrument will need to be returned to have the work listed below carried out:
a) Supply of Sleeve for Infra Red Temperature Measurement
b) Linearisation of Infra Red Function
c) Adjustment of LI, DB and IR Functions
d) Calibration of LI, DB and IR Functions
